HiTech motorsport's Pro 7 plus Season in review

First of all, congratulations to "The Phantom" Matt Lockwood for winning the Toyo Tires New Zealand Pro 7 Plus Championship. Matt totally dominated the series this season, his first season in a pro 7 plus car, with 12 race wins from 15 starts, 4 round wins from 5 rounds and numerous pole positions and fastest laps. We prepared and maintained the car for Matt and also provided track support/service and advice at all of the rounds and it was very rewarding after all the hard work, on and off the track, to clinch the championship. Matt is one of the most talented young drivers we have worked with and adds the 2008/2009 pro 7 championship to the v8 ute championship he won during the 2007/2008 season. Congratulations also to Chris Hanley who finished second in this championship, Chris is also in his first year in a Pro 7 plus car having moved up from karts. Chris had several strong results this season including pole at the final round. Special mention of Brodie Scott here too. Unfortunately due to the current economic downturn, Brodie was unable to compete in all the rounds this season, but when he was there he had strong performances, including a race win and pole position. Hitech Motorsport provided tuning and suspension set up services to Chris and Brodie, as well as trackside advice and assistance. Both Matt and Chris are very talented young drivers so keep an eye out for them as they are both future stars who have bright racing careers ahead of them. Matt may return to defend his title next season, and both Chris and Brodie will be aiming to beat him. With all three of them having strong performances this season, it will be interesting to see who will come out on top in 2009/2010.
