HiTech motorsport's Super Mini challenge Season in review

Congratulations to Warren Heron for winning the Super Mini class and his son Elliot for winning the Open class.

The Heron's have been long time customers of Hitech Motorsport and come to us to dyno tune their cars and extract the best performance from their Weber carburetors.

Because of the economic downturn neither of our Mini 7 competitors competed at all the rounds. Tim Pipes is a talented young driver who had some strong performances in the black Future Cuisine mini.

Last winter we carried out a major rebuild of his car, our hard work was rewarded when Tim drove the car at Pukekohe for the first time and he was 5 seconds(yes that right 5!) a lap faster than his best lap time from the previous season.
Tim had several strong performances this season and will surely be one of the drivers to beat in next years championship.

John McLaren's orange PoolRite Mini 7, was driven by several drivers this season including daughter Joanne McLaren and former mini 7 front runners Brian McMahon and Leigh Bucksey.

Between them Brian and Leigh dominated the later part of the season, with four pole positions and winning 10 of the last 12 races at the last four rounds. Both Brian and Leigh also had outright race wins at Manfeild and Taupo and Brian is now the lap record holder at Taupo for Mini 7's.

We provide full services for both Mini 7's which include dyno tuning, race preparation, suspension set up and trackside support. It was enjoyable to have both our mini 7's so far in front of the opposition and regular one-two finishes with both cars.

Special mention to Trent Dixon and Robin Greenland, who made the step up from the mini 7 class to the miglia class-Trent in the ex Adam Dobbs Championship winning car and Robin in the ex Joanne McLaren Championship winning car.

It is a big step up from 7's to miglia's, but both customers had some strong results throughout the season regularly racing with and beating the established front runners in the miglia class.
Trent finishing 3rd in the miglia championship and Robin finishing 4th. Both drivers are looking forward to next year and renewing their friendly rivalry and competing for the miglia championship.
